Kyudokan Ireland follows the teaching of Minoru Higa Sensei, Kancho of Kyudokan Okinawa and falls under the group led in Europe by Patrick Rault Sensei, official representative of Kyudokan in France.
My first encounter with Shorin-Ryu was in 2014 during a year long stay in my native France. It happened through Denis Agussol Sensei of Kyudokan Nimes who was at the time teaching weekly classes in the small village I was living in. It is that year that I met Sensei Rault for the first time. Since then, I spent 2 weeks training with him in Okinawa and have attended seminars in France and in London. We were very fortunate in 2019 to be able to host our first seminar with Sensei Rault in Killorglin, Ireland. Hopefully we will be able to resume our annual seminar post COVID.
In a similar way, other groups have formed under Patrick Sensei’s guidance throughout Europe. Here is a list of the various Kyudokan groups from the “Cercle Patrick Rault” in Europe. Many of these groups organise seminars each year which are a great opportunity to train with the rest of the Kyudokan Family
